I'll show you the completely revamped petition

March 9, 2023 | Why-File, Service Stories

Wadiz Wadiz, we never work without a "why." There’s a reason behind every service Wadizcreate and every way we work. "Why-File" is our in-depth series that explores the "why" behind everything Wadizhas introduced to the world. We’re here to answer your questions.

United We Stand

The Age of Crowdfunding. For convenience, we refer to crowdfunding simply as “funding.” But the essence of this practice is “crowd.’ Crowd. That’s right, the public! Without a ‘crowd of people,’ funding is like a steamed bun without its filling.

Wadizenvisions a world where companies grow through the encouragement, support, and investment of “people.” This dream Wadizis embodied in the ‘Pledge.’

Cheers that bring people together, a petition for support

The "Sign the Petition" feature was created to help you share your project on social media. It helps spread the word about your project and encourage others to get involved. It’s a Wadiztradition that provides the initial momentum for a project’s success.

You all know that people who participate inWadiz are called “supporters,” right? You can become a supporter just by showing your support. Even if you don’t participate in a project, if you sign the support petition, you’re a supporter!
After all, empathizing with and cheering on a maker’s story is just as valuable as providing financial support.

So that the signatures of support can foster more connections

The "Sign the Petition" button is located below the project participation section (Fund Now, Pre-order).

Where to Sign the Petition

One day, while running a crowdfunding campaign, I found myself wondering, “Why did these people back this project?” I could only see the number of backers—I had no way of knowing who they were or why they had backed it.

“If people share their personal stories of support and many others can relate to them, wouldn’t the project be even more successful?” That’s when the question began to form in my mind.

As it happens, Wadizlaunched Wadizsocial community service, “Feed,” in June 2022. It’s a feature that lets you follow makers and supporters with similar tastes to stay updated on their news and explore their content. When Feed meets campaign support, I was convinced. We were convinced that this would create more meaningful connections. The redesign has begun.

Feed services that display signatures of support

A feed where news about petition signatures is shared

Change #1: Spread the word

I used Facebook as my primary social media platform for gathering initial signatures. It allowed me to share news about the project on Facebook. However, I had no way of knowing whether the people who saw my signature knew about crowdfunding, had ever participated in a campaign, or shared similar tastes in products with me.

So I moved the petition to Wadiz. After all, people on Wadizare bound to know about crowdfunding!

Now, when you back a project, it will first appear on Wadiz. On your feed, you can see updates from the makers and supporters you follow, and people who follow you can see your project backings. Since they’re following you, they probably share similar tastes… so they might just pause for a moment while scrolling, right? 😉

You can see updates about my friends' signatures on my feed!

Change #2: I empathize more deeply

I believe that what moves people is sincerity—in other words, a story. What moves the followers who see my support—the supporters, creators, and acquaintances who follow me on my feed—is also my sincerity toward the project.

So, to help you share why you support us, we’ve provided a text box. Just select one of the four keywords for your reason and write at least 10 characters explaining why—and you’ll have a heartfelt signature of support.

Change #3: I feel more fulfilled

How wonderful would it be if my support helped make the creator’s challenge a success? We’ve also updated our points policy to reward supporters who actively show their support. Previously, you could earn 100 points for backing a project that was on track to reach its funding goal. If you went on to participate in the project, you received 1,000 points.

The revamped support campaign highlights the impact we create togetherYou can earn 100 points by signing up to support a project working toward its funding goal and sharing it with a friend. If your share leads your friend to participate in the project (by completing a payment), you’ll earn 1% of the amount as points.

This is a new rewards program that values the actions of both you and me, not just me alone.

The Power of Signatures

From acquaintances outside Wadiz to those within, the circle of support has expanded—from news of project backing to the reasons behind it. Thanks to this, gained. Through this project, I’ve connectthrough the project and help make it a success.

To all our supporters who have signed the pledge! Take pride in your contribution. You’ll find yourself wanting to share more about the makers and projects, and connect with others through them.
That is the beginning of the pledge—and the “why” behind it.
