Have you ever wanted to participate in a project through a Wadiz campaign, promotion, or event?
We met with the marketing team, who understandWadiz and its supporters better than anyone else—and who use personalized messages to showcase projects in the most appealing way.
Pro, could you tell us about Wadizmarketing team and your role?
Hyunji: The Wadiz marketing team a team that understands our supporters better than anyone else and is dedicated to delivering the most effective messages to them in the most efficient way. We develop and refine new marketing strategies using a variety of methodologies, including performance marketing, SEO optimization, promotions and event execution, and CRM. You could say we are all-around marketerswho handle everything from developing to executing full-funnel marketing strategies.
This team places the highest priority on our loyal customers. We execute and analyze marketing strategies—from raising brand and product awareness among potential customers to driving conversions and fostering customer retention—and develop action plans based on these insights. Our work focuses on maximizing the efficiency of our output (revenue) relative to our input (budget).
I manage search performance campaigns—including the "Supporters' Scent" promotion—as well as search and shopping ads. I also conduct marketing experiments to test hypotheses and improve conversion rates, and oversee the process of analyzing results and optimizing campaigns.
Gil-tae: The On-Site Marketing Team I’m part of communicates special campaigns, promotions, and events to our supporters through various internal channels and our CRM system. We plan and manage these campaigns and promotions ourselves. We analyze performance and establish strategies for improvement to continuously propose tailored projects (products) to our supporters. Our work involves creating and managing monthly campaigns.
Seung-young: I work on search advertising in the marketing team. My job is to ensure that Wadiz Wadiz Wadiz projects appear in the best possible position on search results pages on platforms like Naver and Google to encourage clicks from supporters. I handle everything from writing ad copy to setting bid prices.
What are the most important skills and experiences for a marketer Wadiz?
Hyunji: I believe that as we gain more experience and make more attempts, our accuracy improves and we can achieve our desired goals. This is because we must not hesitate to try different approaches in order to validate our experiments. If the action plan is clear, we can draw clear conclusions. Therefore , if you make it a habit to regularly ask yourself why you’re doing this, how you’ll solve the problem, and what the expected outcomes are, you’ll be able to execute more effective marketing actions.
Gil-tae: As Wadiz promotion marketer, the most important skills are planning and design . You need to develop strategies to ensure projects—such as crowdfunding campaigns—are effectively positioned through seasonal campaign concepts, andyou must be ableto structure campaign and promotion pages based on past performance and tailored to the behavior patterns of customers (backers).
Based on the sourced projects (products), you must develop internal marketing strategies and create compelling content that satisfies the purchasing needs of customers (supporters). Itis also essential to review various results and use that experience to formulate more sophisticated hypotheses and derive insights.
Seung-young: Wadizhosts projects across various industries, ranging from launch products by small and medium-sized enterprises to prototypes from large corporations. You need a basic understanding of these diverse industries. After all, a marketer’s job requires a thorough understanding of the product. For unique products with innovative ideas that aren’t commonly found in the existing market, you alsoneed sales acumento accurately identify their value and incorporate it into your messaging.
Is there anything special that only Wadizmarketers get to experience?
Hyunji: Wadiz, every day is filled with moments of steady growth! We have colleagues whoinspire and support one another, serving as the driving force behind our growth. I’m truly grateful for them. It makes me so proud to be inspired by colleagues who are growing. And when the results we create together with my team are reflected in numbers—such as sales and customer engagement— I feel a real sense of fulfillment in my work.
Gil-tae: Wadizfrequently launches new projects that are a bit different from those on other e-commerce platforms. This allows us to run special marketing campaigns that go beyond simple discounts—we can create and showcase concepts based on seasons or categories to encourage purchases. We can work with the makers running these funding projects to build a community of true fans for their products.
Seung-young: I think the time-sensitive natureof funding projects is what makes them unique. It’s the biggest difference from the concept of inventory that in-house marketers are used to. While this offers advantages as a marketing strategy, it also presents the challenge of having to carefully prioritize resource allocation. I believe it’s an environment that encourages proactive thinking and work.

Wadiz Marketing Team
Does the marketing team have its own unique culture or communication style?
Hyunji: In marketing , data visualization is a must. The Wadiz marketing team uses Python—which minimizes the need for data extraction, analysis, and development—to handle reporting and ad management. Recently, we’ve been holding “Data Lunch” sessionswith team members during our lunch breaks. It’s a great opportunity to learn Python alongside a team member who’s a Python expert. The Wadiz marketing team is highly skilled and full of enthusiasm for learning! We share our work and results thoroughly, brainstorm even the smallest ideas together, and always give it our all.
Gil-tae: The On-Site Marketing Team avoids unnecessary meetings. We establish clear processes for repetitive tasks. When it comes to planning, we create a relaxed atmosphere (such as during tea breaks) where everyone feels comfortable sharing and gathering ideas. We communicate in a free and enjoyable environment.
Do you have any personal convictions or principles that you always try to uphold at work?
Gil-tae: I Jin-guk’s Way of Working I work withthefirstprinciplein mind: “Never work without a ‘why.’”I always try to find the reason behind the task at hand and analyze progress, issues, and results to respond appropriately to the situation. I believe that there are no results or achievements without a reason.
Seung-young: Maximizing productivity and systematizing work processes are at the core of the principles I strive to uphold. I aim to automate repetitive tasks to efficiently free up time for high-quality decision-making. I also strive to maximize the value of our limited resources by programming data-driven decision-making. I believe that individual productivity is directly linked to the company’s value, and I keep this in mind at all times, especially when setting priorities.
