Hello, this is the Wadiz Trust and Safety Team.
Did you enjoy Part 1? 😄
▶ Part 1: Wondering why Wadizhas a Trust and Safety Team?
In Part 1, we explained why Wadizhas a Trust & Safety Team. After reading that post, you might be thinking, “I understand the intent and purpose, but what exactly do they do?” That’s why we’ve prepared this! In Part 2, we’ll explain what the Trust & Safety Team does to foster a transparent and secure funding ecosystem. 📚

What does the Trust and Safety Team primarily do?
Verification of Reported Cases and Follow-Up Actions
The funding project page features a "Report Project" function. Once you sign up for the service, regardless of whether you are participating in a funding campaign, you can use this feature to report any issues that violate our operating policies or Terms of Service Wadiz. We operate this feature with the aim of building a more trustworthy service environment through voluntary reporting by our users. Report categories include: ① Intellectual property infringement, ② False statements in the project story, ③ Distribution of the same product through other channels, and ④ Violations of Wadiz community policies. When a reportis received, the Trust and Safety Team verifies whether there has been a violation of our Terms of Service or community standards. If necessary, follow-up actions—such as requesting an explanation from the maker—are taken based on the verified facts. All reports are handled in accordance with the “Funding Reporting Policy.”
Internal and External Service Monitoring
The Trust and Safety Team does not limit its efforts to managing only the four types of issues described above. Even if an issue does not fall under a specific reporting category, we monitor, investigate, and take follow-up action on any matters or behaviors that threaten user safety or are deceptive.
For example, we target projects that exhibit unusual funding patterns—such as funding a specific project with a large sum all at once and then canceling the funding just before it goes live—or projects that exaggerate or misrepresent how the funding will be used. Based on the reported data, we determine which projects require special monitoring and take appropriate preventive measures and actions, such as providing guidelines, depending on the situation.
Proposed Revisions to Policies and Terms and Conditions
The Trust and Safety Team places great importance on "procedural fairness and transparency " in taking action in accordance with our policies and Terms of Service.
However, we review whether current service policies and terms of service are merely nominal forusers or if new policies are needed, and we convey our opinions and propose revisions to the relevant departments. Since the Trust and Safety Team is the one that guides users on policies and terms of service most closely, we are also the ones best positioned to identify areas requiring revision. We are proposing revisions based on comprehensive analyses of follow-up procedures for reported cases.
Publication of the Transparency Report
A transparency report is a document thatdetails received complaints and the actions taken in response, primarily based on funding complaint data. Global IT companies such as Twitter and Meta have already been publishing these reports, and domestic companies that operate platform businesses based on personal information are voluntarily distributing transparency reports to protect user rights. Wadiz publishes its Transparency Report on the Wadiz website around the middle of every month. It includes information such as the “number of reports received,” “number of projects reported,” and “results of reported project handling.” We publish this report not only to minimize the number of problematic projects but also to transparently disclose how we have addressed user reports and to create a safer funding environment.

In what situations would you communicate directly with the Trust and Safety Team?
The Trust and Safety Team primarily communicates with creators during the process of verifying the facts and taking action regarding reported cases. As mentioned earlier, since a “report” involves the submission of information regarding issues that violate our operating policies and Terms of Service, creators may be surprised or flustered when informed that a report has been filed against them. We fully understand that this can come as a bolt from the blue, given that your project likely underwent tens of thousands of reviews before its launch.
✨
However, please remember thatthe Trust and Safety Team isn’thereto assign blame or impose penalties on creators, but ratherto work with you to identify and resolve any issues that may undermine your credibility.
💪🙂
Once a report is received, the Trust and Safety Team verifies all the facts. Since we are not a specialized research or judicial institution, we actively seek expert advice on matters requiring specialized knowledge. If, following this process, we determine that the creator’s explanation is necessary, we will request supporting documents and evidence.

We also consult with experts when necessary.
If, following the above procedure, a report is confirmed to violate our operating policies or Terms of Service, or if it is determined that the matter does not constitute a violation but requires further explanation, we will . Depending on the situation, we either guide the Maker to provide a sufficient explanation directly or issue an announcement Wadizourselves; this is when communication between the Maker and the Trust & Safety Team is most active.
The common guidance we offer to all creators is to “be transparent.” This is a lesson we’ve learned from many past cases: people who support and cheer for someone are disappointed not by “inexperience,” but by “deception and indifference.” To ensure that no one supporting you suffers as a result, we advise that 🚨 if there is a problem, the best way to maintain trust is to not hide it, but to disclose it and explain it.
Don’t be surprised if you receive an email or a call from the Trust & Safety Team! We’re a team that works closely with you to uphold the values of trust and safety 😀
