The number of projects launched Wadizin the first half of 2023 totaled 7,294, a 143% increase compared to the same period last year, with “Fashion & Accessories,” “Food,” and “Home & Living” ranking as the top three categories by number of launches.
In addition, the top 10 most popular search terms among Wadiz users included leisure-related terms such as “camping,” “tent,” “suitcase,” and “backpack,” indicating that demand for camping and travel has surged due to the end of the pandemic.
Official merchandise for the animated films "Suzume" and "Your Name," which have gained immense popularity in Korea, garnered attention as hit products of the first half of the year, with 16,831 supporters participating and 700 million won raised.
In addition, “Space Wadiz, Wadizthe offline experience space operated Wadizin Seongsu-dong, Seoul, reportedly welcomed over 60,000 visitors in the first half of the year alone. Visitor numbers surged thanks to a variety of curated exhibitions, ranging from a collaboration pop-up store between the fashion brand “Mindbridge” and the local multi-cultural space “Chill Drive-In” to “Haribo Living limited-edition merchandise.” In particular, the pop-up store for the global SPA brand ‘Shop Cider,’ which ran last July, attracted approximately 40,000 visitors over a two-week period. It gained attention as a popular spot for social media photos, fueled by word of mouth from many visitors.
