Wadiz, Korea’s largest crowdfunding platform, has announced its full-scale entry into the “pre-order” market, signaling the expansion of this new market for advance purchases that originated in crowdfunding.
On the 3rd, Wadiz, a life design crowdfunding platform, announced that it is strengthening its overall business identity by officially launching a "pre-order" service—which goes beyond its existing crowdfunding offerings to provide access to innovative, never-before-seen products—featuring benefits such as "exclusive domestic releases," "special bundles," and "limited editions."
Wadizpre-order system has several key differences from the existing market.
First and foremost, Wadizlatest transformation stems from its vision to “create a world where anyone can take on a challenge.” While most pre-order services in the existing market are designed for “group buying” or “advance ordering,” Wadizgoes a step further. Its core mission is to expand opportunities for makers seeking new challenges by connecting all three markets: ▲ Funding (connecting capital for product production), ▲ Store (permanent purchase of successfully funded products), and ▲ Pre-order (reservation purchases of products and services offering special value and benefits).
Unlike group buying, which focuses on “volume discounts” where prices drop as more people join, Wadiz has diversified its benefits to include “exclusive domestic offers, special bundles, and limited editions.” Any product or bundle that offers exclusive benefits to Wadiz supporters is eligible for listing. Examples include offering memberships and season tickets for professional sports teams as rewards, or differentiating offerings by providing official local after-sales service for global brand products.
Above all, Wadiz Pre-order is an extension of “crowdfunding”—a model that grows through supporter demand—and its key differentiator is its focus on “relationship-based consumption” among people who share common interests. Rather than simply bringing together an unspecified crowd to drive down prices, the service uses a follow-based feed to connect people with similar thoughts and interests. They can sign petitions, share content on social media, and earn points to unlock benefits.
With the full launch of its pre-order service, Wadizis now able to feature a wide range of makers, including fresh food and travel products—which were previously difficult to find through crowdfunding—as well as overseas brands entering the domestic market and brands with seasonal product lines. Products such as the Turkish dessert “Sutas Kaymak,” which made its “exclusive domestic launch,” and “Jespah’s” premium massage chair—which reached 100 million won in sales upon launch—are proving highly popular. Wadiz plans to expand its scope into the creator sector in the future, including local gourmet meal kits from Hyundai Green Food, game IP merchandise, music albums, and the reprinting of out-of-print books.
Wadiz CEO Shin Hye-sung said,Wadizpre-order service is characterized by its pursuit of ‘collective intelligence’ and ‘relationship-based consumption,’ which other platforms cannot offer,” adding “Through the follow-based feed service—a powerful social feature inherent inWadiz —users can share their friends’ tastes and favorite products with one another, thereby boosting makers’ sales. We aim to create a service that goes beyond simple price benefits, such as ‘the more people join, the lower the price,’ and instead harnesses the power of collective intelligence to generate new benefits,” he said.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch of this pre-order service, Wadizis offering 10,000 won in points redeemable on Wadiz advertising Wadiz and exposure benefits during the February Wadizevent to the first 300 customers. Additionally, Wadiz will select the “Top 100 Pre-Order Projects” based on high engagement from project participation and survey votes, awarding up to 1 million won in advertising points.
