Let’s put an end to the myth that healthy food is boring!
In today’s fast-paced modern society and fast-moving consumer world, people are always looking for new and diverse experiences and products. And the fervor for consumption is only growing stronger.
This is especially true in the food industry. From retro concepts and premium ingredients to collaborative food products and unique culinary offerings, a wide variety of foods are emerging to keep pace with rapidly changing consumer trends.

Among these, there is one aspect of culture that has taken root: food culture. That is ‘Healthy eating. As interest in sustainable and healthy living has grown, more consumers are seeking to incorporate these values into their diets. The number of companies producing health foods has also increased. In particular, there is a growing trend of considering the environment and sustainability not only in raw materials but also in production methods and packaging. Thanks to this, consumerscan choose from a wide variety of foods that take taste, nutrition, and the environment into account. Zero-calorie, upcycling, gluten-free, plant-based ingredients—you’ve probably heard of these terms before, haven’t you?
Are you worried about how to live a healthy life while still enjoying delicious food? Does the idea of healthy eating seem like a huge undertaking?
Well, healthy eating habits might actually start with smaller steps than you think. And there are plenty of foods being created every day to help you take those steps!
Let me give you an example. Have you heard the news that a vegan burger brand recently launched at Hwaeomsa Temple on Jirisan Mountain?
Hwaeomsa Temple? The temple I know? That’s right. Apparently, they’re running a brand that makes burgers using plant-based ingredients.

Many companies are using crowdfunding as a testing ground to gauge the reactions and preferences of early-adopter supporters amid fierce competition for new products. Let me introduce you to various Wadiz food projects that make a subtle yet significant difference in your health!
Light pork soup? (Sounds tempting)

Even if you drink every last drop of the broth, it’s only 119 calories! Enjoy Busan’s authentic pork soup the healthy way (Nutritional information based on 428g of pork soup)
Korean pork soup is considered by many to be a true comfort food. While it seems like a healthy choice because it’s so filling, it doesn’t exactly come across as a light meal. I recently discovered a meal kit project from a renowned restaurant in Busan that focuses on making this dish healthier. So, what makes it healthier?
Rewardin 119 Gukbap uses lean meat from the "Fuji" cut of domestic Korean pork and reduces calories with a light, secret broth. A typical 800g serving contains 632 calories. (*Based on MFDS nutritional analysis standards) 119 Gukbap, based on a 428g serving, contains just 119 calories even when you finish the broth, with 18.8g of protein and only 2.1g of fat.
If you eat it with rice, the balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fat seems just right. Since the broth is made with a special light recipe, you might not have to worry as much about sodium either. A hearty bowl of soup and health—two seemingly incompatible concepts that came together through crowdfunding.
Indulge in a rich dessert—without the guilt!
I’m a big fan of desserts. While sweet treats packed with sugar make me feel great while I’m eating them, I’m left with a nagging sense of unease afterward. I worry about my diet, blood sugar levels, and hormone balance. But then I found them: desserts with drastically reduced sugar! This is the Low-Sugar Crumble Cake Project, designed for those who just can’t give up their daily dose of sweetness.
Instead of flour, we used chickpeas and oats, which are packed with protein and dietary fiber, to ensure nutritional value. We also used a sugar substitute to keep the sugar content low at just 2 grams. Best of all, it’s made exclusively with plant-based ingredients. Thanks to this, even those who follow a vegan-friendly diet can now enjoy a delicious dessert.

The numbers clearly reflect the maker’s efforts to reduce carbohydrates—especially sugar—and create healthy desserts.
In our first project, which attracted 258 participants and achieved a satisfaction rating of 4.7, we introduced three flavors: Kakao, Mugwort and Pumpkin, and Black Sesame. In our second project, which drew 389 participants, we added Mammoth and Sweet Corn flavors, bringing the total to five healthy desserts unveiled to the world. Instead of declaring, “I’m going to live a healthy life starting today!” and cutting out your favorite desserts all at once, wouldn’t it be a better approach to gradually switch to slightly healthier options one by one? (It’s good for your mental health, too!)
A Solution for the Planet, for Me, and for Everyone
Olive oil is commonly used in cooking, but it’s also known to be good for your health when consumed raw, one tablespoon at a time. I discovered a premium extra virgin olive oil produced by a Spanish family with a 350-year tradition of olive cultivation.
As I read the project story, I thought, “This is the real deal!” The reward, Luke Organic Olive Oil, prioritizes eco-friendly and sustainable production processes. Even if it means lower yields, they adhere to farming methods that strictly avoid pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. What if the olive oil we eat were made from olives soaked in pesticides and chemical fertilizers? (Yikes 😖) It’s a production method that’s not only good for the environment but also good for our bodies.
Luke Organic Olive Oil has earned three certifications: vegan, kosher*, and organic. This means that every step of the process—from raw materials to production methods and the final product—is environmentally friendly. And sustainability extends beyond the food itself to the packaging as well. They use a dedicated oil box and tape made from FSC-certified paper and printed with soy-based ink. Even though it’s not perfect, the maker’s commitment to continuous improvement really resonated with me.

When choosing products, I believe that opting for items that are a bit more environmentally conscious—even if they’re essentially the same—is a form of consumption that promotes physical and mental well-being. From now on, I’ll make sure to examine the story behind products more carefully.
There are many ways to take care of both my body and the planet. While using a reusable tumbler instead of paper cups and eating a plant-based diet are great options, I also believe that choosing sustainable products is a meaningful step.
