How Funding Companies Promote Social Responsibility

November 8, 2021 | SOCIAL IMPACT, Adding Value

Wadiz Better P.L.U.S.” introduces Wadizkey initiatives and achievements aimed at the sustainable development of startups and small businesses, organized into five categories: △Partner △Local △Unique △Start-up △Social Impact. Through this program, we aim to continuously contribute to the expansion of the startup ecosystem by fostering a business model that promotes mutual growth with small businesses.
We ask for your interest and support for Wadizefforts to create“a world where anyone can take on a challenge.”

These days, a wave of goodwill is spreading across various organizations in response to social issues, but despite these efforts, new social problems continue to emerge day after day. We want to create a wave of goodwill, but in this world, it’s hard enough just to gather each and every single drop of water.

Just then, the Wadiz team received an email announcing that they were recruiting people to join their social contribution project.

In response to the question, “What difference will it make if just one person like me gets involved?” people began to reply to the email, saying, “It turns out there are so many people who want to build a better society. We can do this on our own.”

Wadiz Corporate Social Responsibility Meeting

What if a group of true patriots came together and the wave of goodness grew ever larger? Wadiz, which connects makers and supporters, could now go a step further and connect us with society, couldn’t it? Driven by this belief alone, Wadizhas decided to share the scenes where this wave of goodness is rippling.

We view society in our own way.

We wanted to create a corporate social responsibility model Wadiz. From the moment it was founded, Wadizhas embodied the principles of CSV—contributing to society through its crowdfunding platform—but we recognized that building a better society required even more proactive efforts.
*CSV (Creating Shared Value) refers to activities that generate social value through business operations while also pursuing profit.

We began planning projects for our donation-based crowdfunding initiative using our core business platform. Although we had established the broad direction of “donation-based crowdfunding,” selecting the beneficiaries proved challenging.

We went back to the drawing board to rethink the essence and purposeWadiz. Wadizmission is not simply to raise funds, but to create a world of growth by ensuring that capital from the financial markets flows to where it is most needed—such as startups and emerging companies.

Focusing on where “funding”—what we do best—is most needed, we took the opportunity to rethink how we can address social issues that have gone unnoticed until now and support those facing financial difficulties as a result.

Ideation for the Wadiz Social Contribution Project

Meeting for the Wadiz Social Contribution Project

(It was our duty to address the social issues that had been neglected for so long and to help those struggling because funds were not reaching where they were most needed. In doing so, we sought to bring these neglected social issues to the forefront and create a wave of positive change.)

At that time, I heard about children who were unable to celebrate their birthdays properly.

They are single fathers raising children on their own and their children. Because their children’s birth registrations are denied, they do not have resident registration numbers. Simply put, they exist in reality but are effectively denied legal recognition. I heard that these children are living without the rights they are entitled to, for periods ranging from as short as three months to as long as several years.

What kind of reality will children face if their births are not registered?

Problems Arising from Failure to Register a Birth

Without a resident registration number, children cannot be registered at birth. This prevents them from enrolling in daycare centers and kindergartens, leading to a lack of education. Furthermore, the absence of legal benefits leaves them facing financial hardship and unable to receive financial assistance.

Wadizspecial social contribution project: We focus on ensuring that funds go where they are most needed.

Please help children who are facing difficulties registering their births through your donations.

Difficulties encountered when registering a birth at a facility

A lawsuit to register the birth of a child by an unmarried father typically costs 3 million won and takes 3 to 5 months to resolve. In cases involving complex birth registration procedures or additional lawsuits (such as establishing parental rights, child support, or credit rehabilitation), additional costs may apply, and the legal process may take over a year.

If the crowdfunding campaign is successful, the proceeds (the amount remaining after deducting expenses from the total funds raised) will be used to cover the legal costs of the birth registration lawsuit, emergency housing costs for the child of an unmarried father to facilitate the birth registration, and operational expenses for the "Dad's Embrace" Foundation (up to 10%). Details on how your valuable contributions are being used will be disclosed in future updates.

Please help us tackle social issues through crowdfunding.

Wadiz Social Contribution Project, Wadiz wa

We aim to change the world little by little through what we do best: fundraising. It’s okay to start with small steps rather than grand ambitions. Dreaming of a world where crowdfunding can provide the essential support people need, we continue to seek out the places where funding is most urgently required.

Wadiz social contribution project, [Wadiz wa], plans to reach out to our supporters through even more funding projects in the future. We appreciate your warm interest and support.
