Wadiz(CEO Shin Hye-seong, www.wadiz.kr) has partnered with Makuake, Japan’s leading crowdfunding platform, to hold a joint briefing session for promising Chinese makers, marking the start of its strategy to enter the Asian market.
On June 26, Wadizco-hosted a crowdfunding seminar with Makuake at the Grand Hyatt Beijing in Beijing, China. The event was organized for local Chinese brands looking to enter the Asian market.
Earlier, in May, Wadizdiscussed ways to expand ecosystem partnerships with major Asian crowdfunding platforms—including Makuake and Taiwan’s Zeczec—at “BEYOND EXPO 2026,” and continued its collaboration with Makuake through this briefing session.
About 50 local Chinese companies from various fields, including AI devices and robotics, attended the event. In particular, many tech-based innovative brands—such as those offering AI glasses and robot vacuums—participated, demonstrating strong interest in entering the Asian market.
WadizMakuake introduced the operational structures and market characteristics of their respective platforms and shared their Asian Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, including how to acquire early customers and validate market response through crowdfunding.
Since launching its global service in May of last year, Wadizhas been expanding its reach to connect international makers with global consumers. To date, the site has received visits from a cumulative total of 215 countries, and the number of monthly active users overseas has doubled compared to the same month last year. As of June, international visitors are concentrated primarily in the United States, China, and Japan, in that order, and the company is expanding its global user base, with a focus on Asia and North America.
A Wadiz representative said,Wadizserves as a launchpad where global makers can launch crowdfunding campaigns directly in the Asian market and gauge initial customer response,” adding, “We will continue to expand the crowdfunding ecosystem so that promising overseas makers can validate the potential of the Asian market, starting with Korea, and grow their businesses.”
Meanwhile, Wadizis preparing to establish a global partnership network with crowdfunding platforms in major markets such as South Korea, the United States, and Japan. The company plans to expand the collaboration among platforms—which began in Asia—to the global market.
