- Wadiz, a space that has opened up sales channels for some 5,000 SMEs and startups, has established itself as a “startup mecca” attracting an average of 10,000 visitors per month
-Marking its third anniversary, the space has been renovated into a fresh and unique “Life Design Curation” venue… Featuring a variety of collaborative exhibitions ranging from independent creators to major brands
Wadiz, a space that has provided “brand showrooms” to small and medium-sized enterprises and startups lacking sales channels, is transforming into a new and unique “collaboration” space after three years.
Life design crowdfunding platform Wadizannounced that, to mark the third anniversary of Wadiz space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, it will renovate the entire building into a space brimming with new “collaborations” and “pop-ups” every week.
Space Wadizis a venue where visitors can experience crowdfunded products and purchase successful ones. It opened in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, in April 2020 to address the challenge of conveying a product’s potential and story through online channels alone. Having opened early in Seongsu-dong—an area bustling with pop-up exhibitions from various brands—it is credited with providing small brands with a showroom and helping them expand their sales channels.
In particular, over the past two years, curated exhibitions focused on fandom trends that bring online communities together offline have achieved significant success. Over the past three years, more than 5,000 creators who launched crowdfunding campaigns have connected with customers through WadizSpace, which has now established itself as Seongsu-dong’s premier multi-cultural hub, attracting over 10,000 visitors each month.
The key focus of this renovation Wadizis to transform the space into a “Life Design Curation” channel that showcases brand experiences, collaborative exhibitions, and personal tastes from a diverse range of creators—from individual artists and creators to small and large brands. The most significant change is the Creator Zone on the B1 level. By establishing a gallery-style layout designed to showcase creative content, the space will be revitalized as a venue for artists to rent. Key features include beam projectors on three walls, lighting, and audio equipment such as portable speakers for performances.
On the second floor, visitors can explore collaborative exhibitions featuring new brands, with a focus on F&B. The main space on the first floor consists of an experience zone for products currently undergoing online crowdfunding and a TOP 100 store where visitors can purchase products that have been proven successful by fans.
For example, as soon as you step inside, you’ll find a brand event taking place in the courtyard; the first floor features a crowdfunding showroom and store; the second floor hosts various collaborative events at Wadiz; and the basement level offers a flexible, dynamic space where artists and creators hold performances, lectures, and exhibitions. In the basement, a media exhibition titled “Three Unique Stories of the Stars, Told by an Astronomy YouTuber and Photographers” is currently on display, and the “Travel Photography Exhibition of the Year” is scheduled as the next exhibition.
Wadiz CEO Shin Hye-sung stated, “This redesign marks the expansion Wadizas a space that offers diverse brand experiences, moving beyond a product-centric experience to include content created by creators.” He added, “Under the slogan ‘All Things New,’ we will present a variety of content so that anyone can discover their tastes and inspiration and take on new challenges.”
