Wadiz is expanding its book, publishing, and ebook categories with increased marketing support for independent publishers.

Funding platform Wadiz announced today that the number of book funding supporters grew 62% year-over-year in January and the number of projects grew 44%.

The growth of book funding is attributed to the success of the publishing exhibition 'Sammu Bookstore'. The exhibition, which ran from January 16th to February 2nd, attracted more than 48,000 notification applications, creating a sense of anticipation, and was successful in raising KRW 1 billion in funding, providing new opportunities for small publishers.

WADIZ SAMMU BOOKSTORE HAS INTRODUCED A NUMBER OF PUBLICATIONS THAT ARE DIFFICULT TO FIND IN CONVENTIONAL BOOKSTORES, CATERING TO THE TASTES OF WADIZ SUPPORTERS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW EXPERIENCE BY ORGANIZING CATEGORIES SUCH AS ∆AI ART, ∆BOOKSENT, AND ∆BOOK FREELANCER.

Representatively, "Chupi's Life Story," a so-called "National Baby Book," introduced by Rainbow Publishing, generated sales of KRW 270 million in pre-orders in about 20 days, and "Fifth Audolf Collection," introduced by Carpenter Bookstore, was an expensive book in the 100,000 to 200,000 won range, but it attracted attention by successfully raising KRW 170 million. In addition, "Korea's Famous Folk Tales", a book selected by the director of the Folk Tale Museum, succeeded in raising 100 million won in less than a month, and "Vangasayasang", the first reprinting of Minum's "Vangasayasang" in 20 years, reached 4,000% of its target amount within two days of opening and ended with 60 million won in funding.

Wadiz has emerged as an attractive outlet for the book publishing market because of its ability to secure demand through crowdfunding, which helps to achieve stable sales and reach new readers. With Wadiz's organized marketing support, new authors and self-publishers are increasingly able to sell what bookstores sell in a year in less than a month of funding.

AS THE BOOK CATEGORY CONTINUES TO GROW, WADIZ IS COMMITTED TO HELPING AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS FIND FUNDING SUCCESS. ON FEBRUARY 26, WADIZ WILL HOST AN ONLINE FUNDING BRIEFING FOR AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS. WADIZ 'S PUBLISHING PDS, WHO HAVE RAISED OVER $5 BILLION IN FUNDING, WILL SHARE THEIR KNOW-HOW ON BOOK SALES AND DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES. APPLICATIONS AND INQUIRIES CAN BE MADE THROUGH THE WADIZ MAKER CENTER.

"We have a number of funding rounds planned to increase our support for publishers and authors, and to highlight books in genres not found in traditional bookstores due to the diversity of reader tastes," said a Wadiz spokesperson, "We want to make Wadiz a place where more authors and readers can meet."
