WadizWadiz is strengthening its marketing support for independent publishers and others to significantly expand its book, publishing, and e-book categories.

Wadizcrowdfunding platform Wadizannounced on the 24th that the number of supporters for book crowdfunding projects in January increased by 62% year-over-year, while the number of projects rose by 44%.

The growth of book crowdfunding can be attributed to the success of the publishing campaign “Sammu Bookstore.” Held from January 16 to February 2, the campaign attracted over 48,000 sign-ups, generating significant anticipation. It is widely regarded as having provided new opportunities for small publishers by successfully raising over 1 billion won.

Wadiz Sammu Bookstore introduced a wide range of books and publications that are hard to find in traditional bookstores, catering to the diverse tastes of its readers. In particular, by creating categories such as ∆AI Art, ∆Bookcent, and ∆Book Freelancer, it successfully appealed to Wadiz supporters seeking new experiences.

For example, “Chupi’s Life Stories,” part of the “National Baby Collection” launched by Rainbow Publishing, generated 270 million won in pre-order sales in just about 20 days, while “The Works of Piff Audolf,” released by Moksu Bookstore, garnered attention by successfully raising 170 million won in funding despite being a high-priced book costing between 100,000 and 200,000 won. Additionally, the art catalog “Masterpieces of Korean Folk Painting,” personally curated by the director of the Folk Painting Museum, successfully raised 100 million won in less than a month. Meanwhile, Minumsa’s “Bhangasa-yusang” was fully reprinted for the first time in 20 years and achieved 4,000% of its funding goal within two days of launch, concluding successfully with 60 million won in funding.

Wadizhas emerged as an attractive distribution channel in the book publishing market because it allows publishers to secure demand through crowdfunding, making it easier to achieve stable sales and attract new readers. Thanks to Wadizsystematic marketing support, there are an increasing number of cases where new authors and independent publishers are achieving sales volumes in a single month—during the funding period—that would normally take a year to reach in bookstores.

Driven by the growth of its book category, Wadizis actively supporting authors and publishers in achieving successful funding campaigns. An online funding briefing session for authors and publishers will be held on February 26. A Wadiz publishing specialist who has helped secure a cumulative total of 5 billion won in funding will serve as the speaker, sharing insights on book sales and distribution strategies. A Wadiz representative stated, “We are planning numerous funding campaigns to strengthen our support for publishers and authors and to highlight books in genres that are not typically found in traditional bookstores, catering to the diverse tastes of readers,” adding, “We will ensure thatWadizserves as a platform where more authors and readers can connect.”
