Doesn't it smell like something?

April 26, 2023 | How We Work, Team Wadiz

I thought I’d say goodbye to online courses and cram schools the moment I graduated, but now that I’m working, I find myself checking them out even more often. It seems I’m not the only one. If you type “class” into Wadiz, about 377 projects come up (as of April 3, 2023). The range and fields are diverse, covering writing, design, coding, Excel, content creation, foreign languages, and more.

There are many people Wadizwho are eager to grow. People with similar interests have started gathering in small groups. So Wadizdecided to take the initiative.
As part of our growth support program, we’ve launchedstudy groups

By sharing knowledge and information, you can overcome the limitations of studying alone, escape the loneliness, and even enjoy the camaraderie of learning together. Introducing a study group dedicated to work and learning Time to Show Off Our Best.

Marketing Study GroupWadiz Master’

We’re a marketing study group that’s ready to dive deep Wadiz! As you may have guessed, “Master” refersto“marketingstudy.” It also reflects our ambition to keep digging deeper and deeper into Wadizfrom a marketing perspective until we’ve mastered Wadiz.

What began last year as a study group started by two data analysts has now become an official Wadiz study group, thanks to the addition of members from the marketing team and the establishment of the study group system.

The study sessions are both lively and focused. Our Master Pros bring a wide variety of interesting topics to the table—drawn from their work, external lectures, books, and more. Because everyone is so passionate, the study sessions are always engaging. So far, we’ve covered topics such as “Building a Dashboard for Supporter Club Monitoring,” “Quantifying Member Database Metrics,” and “Identifying Factors Affecting First-Time Payments.”

Whenever I come across something during our study sessions that makes me think, “I really need to dig into this,” I immediately add it to our agenda and develop it further. That’s when my analytical skills really shine. We refine these ideas thoroughly so we can apply them deeply in our actual work. We’re conducting these study sessions with the hope that these rough gems will become polished jewels that will benefit Wadiz.

English Conversation Group 'Winglish'

Professional Development Programs and In-House Study Groups

The easiest way to get comfortable with English! It’s WEnglish. I used to be pretty confident in my English, but since I hadn’t been using it, I found myself struggling to speak it. Since it wasn’t easy to find a suitable English conversation group, I decided to gather a group of Wadiz members myself. We’re getting comfortable with English by asking and answering questions in English on WEnglish.

We’ve gathered from a wide variety of teams, including the Maker Growth Planning Team, the Data Platform Team, the Integrated Search Development Team, and the Partner Business Team. As a result, our interests are just as diverse. Thanks to this, we’re having wide-ranging conversations—from lighthearted topics like movies, music, and the seasons to more challenging subjects like philosophical questions and science and technology.

The best thing about Wingleish is that no one judges anyone else—even if they don’t speak English! The goal of Wingleish isn’t to speak perfect English like a native speaker, but to speak English without feeling embarrassed or shy. Over the past six months, the biggest change among our Wingleish members has been that they’ve grown comfortable with themselves speaking English.

QA Study Group ‘Waquring’

We’re the Wadiz QA Language study group! We shortened “Wadiz QA Language” to come up with this cute name. But behind the cuteness lies a professional mission: “To communicate, learn, and improve using Wadiz own unique Wadiz to enhance the quality ofWadiz services.”

The Wakuring logo

Everyone knew test automation was essential, but there was a sense of pressure about having to learn a programming language. With the mindset that “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” we started studying in our spare time, and before we knew it, we had formed an official study group called Wacuring. Thanks to this, we’ve been able to attend seminars and online lectures together, share our thoughts, and develop a greater sense of accountability.

Step by step, our first project—an automated test data generation program—is already 95% complete! We’re currently using it in our daily work, and it’s significantly improved our efficiency. Building on this automation, we have several improvement initiatives proposed by our team members in the pipeline. I’m really looking forward to them, as they’ll be a huge help in improving our QA processes and strengthening our individual skills.

“Automation? Whenever I thought about giving it a try, all I’d see were those squiggly lines… It all seemed so vague. But as I studied and practiced with the Wacuring members, completing each step one by one, I felt a real sense of accomplishment! I was able to do it all thanks to the help of the Wacuring members.” – Wacuring Member

FE Development Study Group "Pepero"

I’m Pepero from the FE Development Team’s study group, which just turned one month old. Its full name is the FrontEnd FrontEnd Research Organization, and it’s a study group dedicated to improving the FE Development Team’s capabilities.

While working on refactoring our JavaScript code to TypeScript, I started a study group to better understand and use the language. What began as a small discussion among a few people evolved into an official study group for the entire Front-End team, with all members participating, as part of our long-term plan to adopt TypeScript across the team 😉

Professional Development Programs and In-House Study Groups

We read books, lead discussions, and study together. Since we’re colleagues, we feel comfortable asking and answering questions whenever something is difficult or confusing! We’re building our skills by helping each other fill in the gaps.

A lively study session!

During work hours, I feel limited by how little I can accomplish, so I vow to myself, “Today, I’m definitely going to study at home after work!” But… in reality, I end up in bed every single day. 😅
Watching the dedicated members of my study group who make time to study together, I resolve once again to stick to my self-study routine after work. (If I fail again, I’ll start my own study group!)
