Life design funding platform Wadizannounced on the 15th that it signed a strategic business agreement with Japan's largest crowdfunding platform 'Makuake' at Wadiz Pangyo headquarters on the 13th.

Founded in 2013, Makuae is Japan's leading crowdfunding platform company, which listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2019. Primarily operating reward-based crowdfunding, it has successfully raised a cumulative total of 75 billion yen (approximately 684.8 billion won).

This agreement was newly signed to strengthen collaboration on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the MOU between the two companies. It was established to provide global expansion opportunities to companies that have successfully secured funding in each country and to mutually cooperate for the development of the Asian funding ecosystem.

WadizMakuake have already achieved global collaboration results over the past four years. Domestic funding success companies recommended Wadizsuccessfully raised funds on the Makuake platform using the fast track. Notably, Wihaim Co., Ltd., which raised 130 million won Wadizby introducing its 'Wireless Vacuum Sealer', launched a Makuake funding campaign and raised 13,432,920 yen (approximately 120 million won).

Through this agreement, the two companies will strengthen their collaboration by recommending and introducing successful startup products and services from each platform. For example, SMEs among Makuake's successful funders wishing to enter the Korean market will prepare for a Wadiz funding campaign with Wadizsupport, while Wadiz successful funders entering the Japanese market will receive support from Makuake. To this end, both companies plan to provide the necessary infrastructure, including logistics services required for global expansion.

Wadiz CEO Shin Hye-sung stated, "Building on the achievements we've made together with Makuae, we will actively support global funding makers crossing borders." She added, "We will provide domestic startups and SMEs with opportunities for global business expansion, while introducing supporters to new and innovative products from Japan, further maximizing the joy of discovery."

Meanwhile, WadizMakuaque plan to expand their networking events starting with a webinar in August targeting Japanese SMEs seeking to enter the Korean market.
