Wadizis partnering with Makuake to actively support Korean crowdfunding success stories in their expansion into the Japanese market. In addition, unique and innovative products from successful Japanese crowdfunding campaigns will now be easily available Wadiz.
Life design funding platform Wadizannounced on the 15th that it had signed a strategic partnership agreement with Japan’s largest crowdfunding platform, “Makuake,” at Wadiz Pangyo Wadiz on the 13th.
Founded in 2013, Makuake is Japan’s leading crowdfunding platform and went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2019. Focusing primarily on reward-based crowdfunding, the company has successfully raised a cumulative total of 75 billion yen (approximately 684.8 billion KRW).
This agreement was signed to mark the fifth anniversary of the initial MOU between the two companies and to strengthen their collaboration. It was established to provide successful startups from various countries with opportunities to expand globally and to foster mutual cooperation for the development of the Asian funding ecosystem.
Over the past four years, WadizMakuake have already achieved significant results through their global collaboration. Domestic companies that successfully raised funds Wadizwere able to secure funding on the Makuake platform using the Fast Track program. For example, “Weheim Co., Ltd.,” which raised 130 million won Wadizby launching a “wireless vacuum sealer,” launched a campaign on Makuake and raised 13,432,920 yen (approximately 120 million won).
Through this agreement, the two companies will strengthen their collaboration by recommending and introducing successful startup products and services on each other’s platforms. For example, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have successfully raised funds on Makuake and wish to enter the Korean market will prepare to launch a Wadiz campaign with Wadizsupport, while Makuake will assist Wadiz campaign success stories in expanding into the Japanese market. To this end, the two companies plan to provide the necessary infrastructure, including logistics services, for global expansion.
Wadiz CEO Shin Hye-sung said, “Building on the achievements we’ve made together with Makuake, we will actively support global crowdfunding platforms that operate across borders.” He added, “We will provide domestic startups and small and medium-sized enterprises with opportunities to expand their global business, and introduce supporters to new and innovative Japanese products to further maximize the joy of discovery.”
Meanwhile, WadizMakuake plan to expand their networking events, starting with a webinar in August aimed at Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises looking to enter the Korean market.
