Crowdfunding Platform Wadizannounced on the 23rd that it successfully held a “Funding Briefing for Entering the Korean Market” in Nanshan, Shenzhen, China, targeting local tech-based innovative companies.

This event was organized to introduce strategies for entering the Korean market usingWadizglobal crowdfunding platform "Wadiz" to startups and technology innovation companies in Shenzhen, China.

The event was attended by 130 promising Chinese companies from various sectors, including hardware tech firms, all of which expressed strong interest in entering the Korean market. Wadizhad initially planned the event for about 100 companies, but due to an unexpectedly enthusiastic response, pre-registration closed early and the capacity was expanded.

This interest stems from the fact that Chinese companies are seeking new channels for overseas expansion due to factors such as uncertain international tariffs. In particular, since South Korea’s crowdfunding platforms allow companies to gauge consumer response quickly before an official launch, many Chinese tech firms are turning to South Korea as a testing ground.

The briefing covered the characteristics of the Korean market and Wadiz plans to launch its global services. In addition, case studies of Chinese hardware startups that successfully entered the Korean market through Wadizwere shared.

For example, the global robot vacuum brand "Roborock" launched a crowdfunding campaign Wadiz in December 2021 and successfully raised approximately 310 million won.

Recently, “Hover,” which unveiled its AI-powered flying camera “Gimbal Drone,” raised 200 million won just one day after launching its crowdfunding campaign, while Shenzhen-based maker “Laser Pecker” successfully raised 1 billion won with its laser-engraved products.

Wadizplans to recruit domestic crowdfunding operators to collaborate with local Chinese makers and funding agencies. Companies selected as official global Wadizwill play a role in helping outstanding Chinese makers enter and successfully establish themselves in the Korean market. Seo Mu-bin, Team Leader of Wadiz Connect Team, who organized the event, stated, “This event has confirmed that Chinese companies are looking to Korea as a new route for overseas expansion,” adding, Wadizwill continue to expand its role as a ‘cross-border’ platform that helps global innovative companies enter the world market.”
