What did you do during your lunch break?

March 22, 2023 | Wasoso, Team Wadiz

[Wassoso]Little updates Wadiz, brought to you by Hong Jin-guk, our PR manager. We’ll introduce Wadiz life and fun culture of the “Jin-guks.”

Last year, just as the spring breeze suddenly arrived, a star appeared Wadizlike a shooting star. The innocent Kimbap Man, the indecisive Mr. Ma, the Clean Air Health Genius, and Jang Beom-jun of Chilgapsan. A live masked singing battle during the lunch guerrilla event, Wadiz Lunch King. Wadizbrought a gentle spring breeze to the noses Wadizhad been huddled up all winter. (Thanks again! You guys rock! 👍)

After about a year, "Lunch King" is back—with a dance twist.
"Lunch King" Season 2: The Masked Dance Battle " Wadiz Street Woman Fighter" ( WOWPA) has kicked off!
Which star emerged this time?

Go, Jin-guk! Go, Jin-guk! Go!

Wadiz Street Woman Fighter ‘WOWPA’

Just like at the Lunch King tournament, Vice President Choi Dong-cheol kicked things off this time as well. That morning, an announcement was posted in the company-wide chat room on our internal messenger.

In-house Event: Wowpa

A dance battle between "Holly Jin-gook Jinsuni" and "Wadichika Waiki"? Wadizknack for naming things just gets better with each passing year—what's going on here? More than anything, I was dying to know who the host, XDaniel, was.

WOWPA posters are plastered all over the Pangyo office. If they’re this serious about it, I’m really looking forward to it.

Let the battle begin! READY, FIGHT!

As the long-awaited 12 o'clock hour approached, Wadizbegan gathering one by one on YouTube to watch the live stream of the dance battle. Just before the battle officially began, XDaniel made his entrance. The chat window was flooded with enthusiastic welcomes—you could practically hear the cheers 😉

Accompanied by XDaniel’s cool and witty introduction, today’s stars, Jinsun and Waiki, made their entrance wearing masks! If they had just walked out, it would have been a bit dull and underwhelming for dancers, but it turned out to be a spectacular entrance show brimming with energy and charm.

In-house Event: Wowpa Dancer Waiki

A spectacular opening performance by two dancers

The battle kicked off with David Guetta’s “Hey Mama.” The intense dance moves, combined with the camera operator’s dynamic shots, made the live chat window feel just like a concert venue for a visiting artist. Jin-soon and Waiki, completely absorbed in the moment, began to move more energetically. The heated first battle came to a close thanks to X Daniel’s mediation.

Oh, how lovely the old temple is ~

The second battle featuring special moves—READY FIGHT!

Next up was a solo performance by two dancers. Jinsoon went first—did you guys realize why she’s called Jinsoon? Her surname is New and her first name is Jinsoon, so she’s New Jinsoon. WadizNew Jeans member Jinsoon performed a medley dance to “Ditto” and “Hype Boy.” Maybe because it was her own song (?), her dance moves were incredibly sharp and dynamic.

This is exactly what I wanted! This is exactly what I wanted to see!

In response, Wai-Ki’s defensive dance was LE SSERAFIM’s “ANTIFRAGILE”! The song choice perfectly captured Wai-Ki’s determination not to back down, and the choreography was just as intense.

What the heck? That's so cool—it's driving me crazy!

Reactions to the Wowpa company event

It's chaos in the Wadiz family!

The final performance to bring the heated battle stage to a fitting close was Busuksoon’s “Let’s Fight.”

Let's give it our all at the company event, Wowpa!

Let's do this!

Where have those fierce, battle-ready Jinsun and Waiki gone? I thought they were a newly debuted duo fresh out of years of training. I’ve fallen even more in love with their song selection, which seems to convey a message of hope and courage Wadiz. You’re so cute, you’re so cute, my big sis!

BATTLE OVER! Who came out on top?

With the stage all set, the voting to determine the winner has also come to a close. Jinsuni and Waiki. Waiki and Jinsuni! I thought it was impossible to choose between them. Perhaps all Wadizfelt the same way, because the final tally showed a margin of just two votes! And the winner is… Waiki! 🏆

Winner of the Wowpa Company Event

Congratulations!

Wai-ki, who has an impressive eight-year history of dancing as a hobby, said this was her first time participating in a battle like this with someone she’d just met. She shared that it was a thrilling experience and even expressed her gratitude to her parents, proving herself to be a truly devoted daughter. Jin-soon also left a heartwarming comment, saying she enjoyed working in sync with Wai-ki.

Just like last year, Wadiza little joy. Wadizwho seem to have endless talent, I can’t help but wonder where it all ends. I’m already looking forward to seeing what kind of event they’ll host next year!
