Wadiz Awards 2023’ to Be Held

The nominees for "Wadiz Best Maker," a title that garnered attention for leading funding trends in 2023, have been announced.

Life design funding platform Wadizannounced on the 18th that, as the year comes to a close, it will host a special exhibition titledWadiz Awards 2023,” featuring projects from makers who have led new trends and gained popularity through Wadiz. The teaser site will be unveiled today, and the main event will run from the 22nd through January 7 on Wadiz and website.

Now in its sixth year, the "Wadiz Awards" is an official year-end awards ceremony that recognizes and showcases influential makers across various fields who have successfully led projects and generated sales through crowdfunding and the Wadiz Store over the past year. To date, the Wadiz Awards has honored more than 700 outstanding makers selected directly by supporters.

For this year’s awards, approximately 260 maker teams—representing the top 5%—were selected as nominees based on a composite score derived from sales, the number of projects launched, and satisfaction ratings for funding, pre-orders, and store projects conducted between January 1 and November 30, 2023. From December 22 through January 7, a special exhibition will be held exclusively for the nominated “Best Makers,” and the final Top 100 for theWadiz Awards 2023” will be selected based on the results of this exhibition.

When looking at the top 100 Best Makers by category, the “Big Three” of crowdfunding that led trends in the first half of the year—△ Tech & Appliances (19%) △ Fashion & Accessories (16%) △ Beauty (15%). When combined with Home Living (12%), which ranked fourth, these categories accounted for over 60% of the total. Key factors driving the popularity of these categories included the ability for new brands to use them as a testing ground for new products without the burden of inventory, as well as high demand from “early adopters” focused on tech and home appliances.

Best Makers featured in Wadiz Awards showcase will receive aWadiz Awards Exclusive Badge” as a symbol of pride in being a verified maker and as a token of congratulations. Additionally, they can expect promotional benefits through marketing support on the Wadiz channel and external advertising campaigns during the showcase period.
