Here’s a peek into the reading lives Wadiz!

March 17, 2023 | How We Work, Team Wadiz

You know how it is. That feeling that if you start studying in March, things will somehow go better? Just because it’s the start of a new semester, March 1st becomes like a second January 1st.
Maybe that’s why? On March 2, the company messenger channel ‘#Jinguk’sStudy_All’was the hottest spot 🔥 ‘#Jinguk’s_Study_All’ is where you.

Book Support Program, Jin-gook's Library

Wadizsupports Jin-gook’s growth by providing resources for education and learning, helping him stay ahead of the curve in this rapidly changing world. One such initiative is our book support program, “Jin-gook’s Library.”

Any Wadizcan apply. Any book that helps with learning and personal growth is eligible. Do I have to read the book and write a full review? Nope. All you need to do is leave a short review that helps your colleagues choose a book. (Wondering which book to pick? Reading reviews is actually pretty helpful 😁)

Book Donations

Not only can you request books, but you can also freely take books from the company library to read. You can even borrow them!

What books are Wadizreading and learning from in Jin-gook’s Library? We’ve compiled the data from last year (2022).

Jin-gook's Study: 2022 Year-End Review

The total number of books requested through Jin-gook's Library last year was a total of 3,589 books. That works out to about 9 books requested every day. The number of Wadizwho visited Jin-gook’s Library 351. It’s safe to say that nearly every employee made a request. Perhaps another name Wadizis “bookworms”…?

So, what are the most popular books Wadiz, who are known for embracing personal growth? In first place, chosen by 34 people, is the self-help book “My Great Discovery: The Strengths Revolution (Gallup Press)”, chosen by 34 people. It seems Wadizare truly committed to “doing what they’re good at even better.”

After that, Lee Eo-ryeong’s Final Lecture(Kim Ji-su, Yi Eo-ryeong / 23 people), Fish Do Not Exist(Lulu Miller / 22 people), Trend Korea 2023(Kim Nan-do et al. / 21 people) were among the projects that received the most love Wadiz.

Where is the 2022 Book Club?

Book Donations

The team that requested the most books in 2022 was Project Review Team 1! Following closely behind were the Maker Growth Planning Team and the QA Team, which also made the list of top readers.

I wonder if the ability to carefully evaluate numerous projects has carried over into their reading habits? As it happens, the 2022 Wadiz “Bookworm of the Year” (the person who applied for the most “Jinguk’s Library” projects) was also a member of Project Review Team 1. I asked them for a brief comment.

“I’ve always loved books, so I’m honored to be named the ‘Bookworm of the Year’! 🥳 There are a lot of book lovers on the Project Review Team 1. We often recommend books to each other and chat about what we’re reading. Seeing my colleagues request and read books has naturally fostered a culture of reading here, haha. I’m so happy that the company supports book purchases, allowing me to read and collect books from various fields without any financial burden!” – 2022 Wadiz Top Reader

📕 The Tools of the Titans

– This book reminds us of things we all know deep down but don’t put into practice in our daily lives. I realized that the first steps toward happiness or success aren’t as daunting as I thought. The short stories are organized by theme, making for an engaging read.

– A book that gives you the courage to get started right away. If you want to learn from others’ success stories, I highly recommend this book.

📗 Trend Korea 2023

– I was fascinated to see how everyday experiences were presented in the book as theories and trends. It teaches you how to study trends in an era where predictability is fading and how to make sure you don’t miss out on them.

– If you work in a trend-sensitive industry, I highly recommend giving this a read!

📘 The World of Children

– This book broadens your perspective, helping you see even the smallest beings who need a helping hand. The stories of children, told through the author’s eyes, offer quiet charm and heartfelt emotion. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on whether I truly respect children as equals.

📙 I might be wrong

– The idea that “what I think and feel might not necessarily be absolutely right” really resonated with me. Up until now, I’d always assumed I was right. Realizing that might not be the case gave me a strange sense of peace and relief. Even though our cultural backgrounds are different, I really related to the author’s struggle to grapple with the same questions and seek the truth. I highly recommend this to friends in their late twenties! (More than anything, I really wanted to own the reissue edition, haha.)

I thought I was a pretty big bookworm, but after looking at Wadizreading stats from last year, I’ve completely changed my mind. Wadiz, Learningand growth.

“Just wear your old coat and buy a new book.” That’s what American educator Austin Phelps said to emphasize the importance of reading. I can’t help but nod in agreement. Jin-gook’s Library adds, “Buy a new coat! I’ll buy you the new book!”

Jin-gook's Study is still going strong in 2023!
