Launching the Pre-Order Service: Ensuring There Are No Blind Spots!

‘We’re building a world where anyone can take on a challenge.’
We started out with the goal of serving as a source of capital to help new business owners and early-stage companies navigate the market with ease. We wanted to make the world a better place. Many promising brands have been born through Wadiz, but… I still can’t help but wonder?
“In a world where anyone can take on a challenge, is there anyone who feels left out?”
“What exactly constitutes a challenge? Is it creating innovative and new products?”
And so on…
We (Wadiz) used to define “anyone” as someone who creates something new, and crowdfunding as a challenge. As the potential of crowdfunding became known to the world, “anyone” became more diverse. Consequently, we decided to broaden the scope of “challenges” so that no endeavor would be left behind.
To create more opportunities
Wadizthe early days Wadiz, the platform featured only new products and services. Crowdfunding was the only service available Wadiz. Individuals who wanted to make a small difference in the world, large corporations eager to gauge market response to new products, and global brands looking to introduce quality foreign products to Korea—we realized that for all of them, the concept of “new products and services” could be a barrier that made them hesitate to take the plunge.
“I have to break down this wall. I have to create opportunities so that more people can take on new challenges!” I told myself. There was no need to hesitate, since supporters would get to experience a wider variety of products and services and have the chance to cheer on these challenges. (Let’s get started right away!)
Building on that commitment, in March 2022, we eliminated the conditions of being the first and exclusive platform in Korea. Supporters could now discover a variety of officially distributed global brands Wadiz. In August 2022, we separated Encore Projects and Global Projects from regular funding campaigns and launched ‘Pre-order’—a term we coined to distinguish them from crowdfunding. This marked the beginning of our pre-order service.
In October, we broke down the barrier of Wadiz exclusivity even for Encore projects. As a result, more products originally launched Wadiz Wadiz became available Wadiz. In November 2022, fresh food and travel rewards joined the pre-order lineup, attracting an even wider variety of projects and makers Wadiz. Supporters were able to discover more products offering benefits that were a cut above the rest.
And… in January 2023, the opportunity for makers to take on new challenges and for supporters to enjoy benefits officially began. We expanded pre-orders to all categories!

Pre-order service with special benefits
With pre-orders, anyone can become a creator and take on a challenge. It doesn’t matter if it’s not something new or if it’s not your first time—as long as there are “special perks.” Thanks to those special perks, backers can enjoy a fresh and unique shopping experience.
Pre-orders are a reservation-based purchasing service. Backers can request a refund if the rewards do not meet their expectations. This makes it easy to participate in the project.
(Since crowdfunding is about cheering on and supporting new challenges, refunds based solely on a change of heart are generally not permitted. Worried about what to do if there’s a defect? Don’t worry— Wadizhas a separate refund policy in place!)
Now that the "first release" label is no longer in place, there’s a higher chance of finding reviews. Thanks to these reviews, you can check the credibility of the project and the maker in advance.
The appeal of pre-orders is...
When we were developing our pre-order service, we set a condition that said, “If it’s a pre-order, it must meet at least one of these criteria!”
- This should be available exclusively Wadizin Korea! (Exclusive to Korea)
- Wadizneeds to offer unique advantages in terms of price, after-sales service, and product bundles or configurations! (Special Bundle)
- It has to be a Wadiz Limited Edition! (Limited Edition)
If it’s a pre-order project, it has at least one of these three appealing features. Backers can experience these features exclusively Wadizwhile the project is running.
We wanted to give our Wadiz supporters—early adopters who seek out the latest trends and unique experiences—the first chance to enjoy even better benefits. Even for the same product, we wanted to offer you the opportunity to experience unique bundles, great prices, personalized after-sales service, and limited editions.
It’s a little different from the typical pre-order service where you simply “reserve a product,” isn’t it? With Wadiz Pre-order, you reserve “benefits”—from exclusive domestic bundles to limited editions.
A World of Pre-Orders
Thanks to the comprehensive service known as pre-orders, creators, backers, and we have been able to envision a wide range of benefits.
I’d love to get my hands on a long-out-of-print comic book by an author I loved as a child and add it to my collection. I’m also hoping that a “perfect pairing” package of my favorite foods will be released someday. I’d also love to be able to pre-order the cereal that was my breakfast staple during my time as an exchange student abroad.
Thanks to our pre-order service, we now have kaymak made in Turkey!
