Space Planner's Notes

Where can I find interesting special exhibitions and pop-up events?

The Mecca of Pop-Ups! Space WadizWe’re hosting it at Space Wadiz. It’s evolving from a place where you can experience project rewards into a space offering a variety of experiences. If you want to enjoy this weekend, come WadizSpace Wadiz!

Space Planner's Notes

As far as I know, Wadizdidn't hold any special exhibitions or pop-up events in its early days.

Since its opening in March 2020, Space Wadizhas served as Wadiz focused on serving as .. We put our energy into showcasing new products from various projects currently running Wadizonce a week. We also launched the . .

Space Planner's Notes

So why did you decide to hold a special exhibition and pop-up Wadizadiz?

I felt that we needed more diverse contentthat Wadizthe ‘Wadiz Offline Space’ could offer.I felt that we needed more diverse content thatonly the physical space “Wadiz” could offer. Although I am not yet a Wadizmaker (in Wadiz), I thought that if we collaborated with brands that wanted to partner Wadizspace (with Wadiz), we could provide a special experience for visitors to Wadiz space.

In March 2023, we renovated Space Wadiz to foster a vibrant ecosystem of collaborations. Our goal was to transform Space Wadizinto a “one-of-a-kind” space in Seongsu-dong, filled with stories from diverse brands and makers—from the courtyard to the rooftop. We wanted to create an intriguing space that’s hard to leave once you step inside.

Space Planner's Notes

I heard you're running a hot promotion right now.

It’s common for a single brand to host a pop-up in a single space. Space Wadizis designed and organized to allow visitors to experience 2–3 pop-ups simultaneously, .

Currently, Wadizis hosting the world’s first pop-up for the LA-based global SPA brand “Shop Cider” under the title “2023 Wacance.” We’re also hosting the first offline pop-up by “Ogre X Bamir,” a brand that reimagines spaces, as well as a special exhibition titled “Discoveries of Travel” featuring products from Wadiz project. You can experience a total of three pop-ups and exhibitionsWadiz. No need to go far for a vacation—just come Wadiz“Space Wadiz” Wadizyour wacance! (laughs)

Are you also hosting a Shop Cider pop-up?

Shop Cider is a brand that’s been gaining a lot of traction lately—you’ve probably come across it online at least once. Despite all this attention, I realized Shop Cider doesn’t have a physical store. I figured there must be plenty of people who’d love to touch and try on their clothes in person. Plus, their commitment to quickly introducing fresh, trendy items aligns perfectly with Wadizslogan, “ALL THINGS NEW.” That’s why we’ve brought them on board.

Space Planner's Notes

So, did you make the proposal to ShopCider first?

Yes, that’s right. A few days after I made the proposal, the team at Shop Cider replied saying they found it very interesting and wanted to work with us. After about two months of various discussions and negotiations, we ended up co-hosting Shop Cider’s world-first pop-up WadizSpace Wadiz.

Space Planner's Notes

It looks like it will take quite a while to put together a major exhibition.

Space Wadizhas been receiving numerous inquiries about collaboration pop-ups. After careful consideration, we are selecting brands that would be a good fit WadizSpace Wadiz. Once the selection of pop-up brands is complete, we determine the overall “mood and theme” by considering the season and Wadiz trends. Under this theme, we then recruit Wadiz makers who would be a good fit to host pop-ups in other Wadizspaces.

Space Planner's Notes

Pop-up 1, held last month

Space Planner's Notes

The pop-up we ran last month 2

It’ll probably take at least a month, won’t it?

Typically, from planning to launch, takes at least 2 to 3 months. There’s a lot to discuss, from the overall concept planning to reviewing brand-specific visualizations, designing events, and setting detailed schedules. It’s a somewhat long and arduous process, but when I see so many people visiting after the opening and reading reviews saying it was a special and enjoyable experience, I feel incredibly proud as a space planner.

Space Planner's Notes

Is there a maker you’d especially like to collaborate with?

We want to partner withbrands that have a dedicated fan base but haven’t yet launched offline, as well as makers who are just getting started. Bringing products that have never existed before into the worldWadizspirit of bringing products that have never existed before into the world, wewanttoand help them gain more fans.

I heard that a lot of famous people came to this Shop Cider event.

Not only celebrities, but also about 100 influencers who are regular fans of Shop Cider visitedI believe the fact that Shop Cider—which had previously only been available online—could be experienced in person for the first time ever in Seongsu, Seoul, was a major draw.

Space Planner's Notes

Seongsu-dong is known as a mecca for pop-up shops.

That's right. There are so many brands, both big and small, opening pop-up stores that there are always around 40 of them running each week.

So, when you’re launching a special exhibition or pop-up like this, what do you keep in mind when preparing for them?

I’m constantly thinking about and researching what the diverse visitors to Seongsu-dong are looking to experience. Among them, What kind of offline pop-up would people most want to visit?asthe first element of our planning.

Thanks to its large size, Wadizhosts a variety of pop-ups all in one space. The We also place great importance on the varietyarealso very importantto us.

Space Planner's Notes

You’ve worked so hard on all of this! How did you showcase them in this exhibition?

We wanted customers visiting the ‘Shop Cider’ pop-up to enjoy exploring the diverse productsWadizprojects as well as the furniture from ‘Ogre X Bamir.’ Our hope was that customers visiting Wadizspace for various reasons would be able to fully enjoy the content we prepared and leave satisfied.

So we prepared a ‘stamp’ event. After enjoying the various pop-up displays and products throughout the space, we arranged for you to take home Haribo merchandise and café drinks as gifts .

Well, finally, Please share a few words.

ALL THINGS NEW: Wadiz! Wadiz is a space always brimming with new things. ‘Whenever I hear a visitor say, “It feels new every time I come…,” my heart leaps with joy. It feels like they truly understand our passion.

To ensure you can fully experience the diverse collaborative content that Wadizoffline space can offer, Wadizwill continue to be a space Wadizconstantly plans and executes new initiatives.

Wadiz—a space that always brings something new! We hope it continues to be a go-to pop-up spot in Seongsu-dong, brimming with fun experiences!
