Growing 2.5 times a year for 10 years? Wadiz has so much to do

“Take pride, Make the next one better”

Wadizhas celebrated its 10th anniversary. The “Impact Forum,” a monthly event where we recognize our colleagues and celebrate our collective achievements, has been held online ever since the pandemic began. However, the Impact Forum kicking off May 2022 was held in a slightly special way to markWadiz 10th anniversary.

Before the event started, our CEO and other C-level executives actually brewed coffee for us 😉

This event is was held to share the story ofWadizgrowth and to work together toward a better future,

The event was held in a hybrid format, combining both online and offline elements. Since “being together” Wadizat the heart Wadiz, we created an atmosphere where all members—whether online or offline—felt connected and as though they were gathered in one place.

Now, about three weeks later, I asked people how they remember the event from that day.

“The feeling that everyone is connected”

“It’s striking to realize that the two founders have ‘still’ been working together for the past 10 years.”

“Even though there were so many people, it felt like a warm, close-knit family.”

“It wasn’t a flashy, boisterous event; instead, it was the small talk that stood out and made it enjoyable.”

“I felt a sense of pride in our new vision: ‘Creating a world where anyone can take on a challenge.’”

Even from the reviews, it seems like this was an event that really showcased Wadizunique character—where “colleagues” have always been a priority, just as much now as they were 10 years ago.  “We wanted it to be fun, not too serious”— —that’s what the event planners and MC said they wanted to achieve…

Did it actually work? Hong Jin-guk brings you a vivid account of the day’s events.

A Decade of Growth We’ve Built Together

The event was hosted by Mr. Choi Dong-cheol, the founder and vice president who has been with Wadiz for its entire 10-year history. I hear his witty banter that day became the talk of the town for many people afterward. In any case, this person is the so-called “Comment Swallower*”, who explained Wadiz 10th anniversary Wadiz  Wadiz growth rate = 8.6% monthly compound interest, 150% annual compound growth”

*Comment Swallower: At the monthly Impact Forum, we share Wadizperformance metrics in “numbers.” Since everyone is so focused on the presentation (not that it’s boring…), comments come to a complete halt—hence the name.

Monthly compound growth of 8.6%, annual compound growth of 150%? A business with so much to do

In other words, this represents a 2.5-fold increase over the past nine years. Startups typically seek investment from external institutions to fuel their growth. Generally, a company must achieve at least double its previous valuation before proceeding to the next funding round. Following Wadizseed investment (article link), Wadizhas secured institutional funding every one to two years. The survival rate for each round is 30%.

Wadiz, which successfully secured Series D funding last November (article link), is among the top 0.2% of startups—a group where only two out of every 1,000 survive— a top-tier startup with a 0.2% survival rate—a figure that represents the top 0.2% of startups.

“Looking back over the past 10 years, we’ve built a business that connects makers and supporters—one with endless possibilities,”he concluded. It was a moment that had both Mr. Hwang Cheol-woo, who was speaking, and us—who were so engrossed we could barely type comments— going “Ooooh~”😊

Woo Sang-hyukand Yuna Kim

When it comes to sharing his achievements, Pro Hwang Cheol-woo has a special talent: spot-on analogies. If the past 10 years Wadiz—which pioneered the crowdfunding market—were like athlete Woo Sang-hyuk, who broke into a virgin market, achieved what everyone thought was impossible, and rose to second place at the World Championships, he shared his hope that the next 10 years Wadizwill be like those of Kim Yuna—a figure skater with overwhelming talent who is loved by the entire nation. I have no doubt that Wadizwill become a service loved by the entire nation through its exceptional offerings!

The story of Wadizgrowth over the past 10 years, as revisited through the Impact Show, continues in Parts 2 and 3 under the title “People Who Have BeenWadizWadiz” 😁
