Hello, could you please introduce yourself?
Oh Young-seok: Hello. I’m Oh Young-seok, and I’m in charge of the finance department Wadiz. I joined Wadizin September 2021. I discovered Wadizwhile looking for a more dynamic environment and an opportunity to do the work I wanted to do. I was drawn to the company’s vision of growing together with a spirit of challenge, and that’s why I joined. I’m still growing myself!
Wooseomi: Hello. I’m Wooseomi, and I lead the Accounting Team. I joined Wadizlast September, and it’s already been eight months. Working Wadizhas given me the confidence that I can handle any new challenge that comes my way! After all, in the working world, there’s no end to learning or new tasks. Looking back on this time, I realize how much I’ve grown 😊
Please tell us about your current role and team!
Oh Young-seok: I work in the Finance Division, an independent unit within the Financial Accounting Team. My responsibilities include managing the company-wide budget, optimizing the cost structure, overseeing company-wide performance metrics, analyzing the performance of each business division, and identifying areas for improvement while proposing solutions. I also derive insights through management analysis of specific issues and play a role in supporting executive decision-making.
When significant events occur—such as entering new business areas or pursuing collaborations with other companies—we conduct profitability analyses and strive to maximize utility relative to costs. Furthermore, we handle support functions to ensure the achievement of “financial gains.” In short, our department prioritizes mutual cooperation to understand the diverse perspectives of our team members and foster optimal synergy, all with the goal of maximizing efficiency and deriving valuable insights.
Woo Seo-mi: The Accounting Team is involved in every stage of Wadizservice planning and records all transactions that occur as customers use our services. Our core responsibilities include preparing financial statements through monthly closing procedures and generating monthly and quarterly profit and loss reports.
When Wadiz launches a new service, I also identify potential accounting issues in advance, review the relevant business processes, and set things up so that these considerations are incorporated into the financial closing process. Wadizundergoes an annual external audit, and I provide detailed explanations regarding the items requested by the accounting firm, as well as prepare and review the necessary financial documents.
The biggest project we’re currently working on is the company-wide implementation of our next-generation ERP*. The entire Accounting Team is set to join the project task force, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how much our team will grow through this ERP implementation experience! 😉 The Accounting Team is always working hard to move forward, putting our heads together to find efficient processes for our work.

How did you come to join Wadiz?
Oh Young-seok: I used to handle fundraising and disclosure duties at a public corporation. After returning to work following my graduate studies, I wanted to take on more challenging roles in the financial sector. However, opportunities were scarce, and I felt my career growth was hitting a wall. I began searching for a place where I could do the work I wanted to do and take on new challenges at the same time, which led me to Wadiz vision and spirit of challenge spirit, and the opportunity to expand into the finance sector.
Woo Seo-mi: Before joining Wadiz, I worked at a major financial institution. Given the nature of the accounting team—which had to handle quarterly disclosures and undergo external audits—I reached a point where I was rethinking my career amidst the repetitive nature of the work. I happened to receive an offer to join Wadiz, the word “challenge”really stood out to me. “We create a world where anyone can take on a challenge.”Wadizvision gave me the courage to take on a new challenge.
What are the most important skills and experience for this role?
Woo Seo-mi: I believe the most important competencies area “willingness to learn,” “flexibility in the face of change,” and “collaborative skills.”Since accounting and tax are specialized fields, you might assume that you spend a lot of time working alone. However, communication and collaboration skills are surprisingly crucial. Let me give you an example involving a new business model. Clear communication with other departments allows us to gain a deep understanding of the new business. Through communication, we can organically harmonize work processes across various departments and receive the necessary information in real time. Thanks to this process, we can devise accurate and efficient accounting methods.
Wadiz, as long as you have an open mind and a desire to learn, there are plenty of opportunities to gain experience in a variety of roles. This means you can take on new challenges and work proactively, regardless of your level of experience. You can build your accounting knowledge and practical experience right Wadiz! Do you have any ongoing projects or any projects that stand out in your memory?
Oh Young-seok: Since the second half of last year, as the importance of improving profitability has grown, the proportion of my work dedicated to profitability analysis has also increased. I continue to analyze the cost-benefit ratios of company-wide contribution margin management, as well as newly introduced solutions and new business models we are entering.
In particular, when introducing new solutions, we conduct both qualitative analyses—such as the extent to which operational efficiency improves—and quantitative analyses—such as whether any existing solutions will be replaced, how much costs will be reduced, and what the future cost structure will look like. Since these analyses are ongoing and will continue in the future, this is the first thing that comes to mind!
Do you have any personal beliefs or principles that you always try to follow at work?
Oh Young-seok: Adheringto thefifth ofour five principles—“We pursue financial gains”—requires extensive analysis and cost management. Assessing economic impact demands sophisticated logic and precision. I carry out my work by meticulously checking every single number and analysis result to ensure there are no errors in the figures or logic. While errors are occasionally found, I constantly strive to minimize them.
And, as with any job, I’m working diligently to meet all deadlines. 🙂
Woo Seo-mi: I really value Jin-gook’s work philosophy: “Never work without a ‘why.’” I love that I have plenty of opportunities to understand Wadizgoals and business model and set my own direction for my work. My teammates always listen carefully to my ideas—especially when they’re grounded in a clear “why”—and actively incorporate them into our work.
There’s a real difference in my performance depending on whether I’m working with the mindset of how my tasks contribute to Wadiz. Even with tasks I’ve been doing for a while, just a little thought can help me streamline them and use my work time more productively.
