🏠In-home beauty treatments—it’s no longer just a dream

The global beauty market is currently undergoing a major transformation driven by Beauty Tech.

More and more people are looking to achieve professional-level skin and body care at home, without having to visit a specialized beauty salon.

Global market research firm The Research Company forecasts that forecasts that the global beauty tech market will grow to approximately $116.1 billion (about 162 trillion won)by 2028.

Beyond simple skincare products, technology-based home care devices—such as those using ultrasound, radiofrequency, and LED—are becoming an integral part of daily life.

The domestic market is also growing along similar lines.

The domestic beauty device market, which was worth just 80 billion won in 2013, has grown more than tenfold to 1.6 trillion won in 2022, and is expected to continue growing at a rate of around 10% annually.

Beauty devices are no longer niche products; they have established themselves as a central part of the industry both globally and domestically.

🚀 The beauty device market that has revolutionized K-Beauty

This shift is also clearly reflected in the performance of domestic companies.

Recently, APR—which has rapidly grown by focusing on beauty devices and overtaking traditional industry leaders like Amorepacific and LG Household & Health Care—surpassed 8 trillion won in market capitalization, becoming the top K-Beauty company by market cap.

As the beauty device market continues to grow, small and medium-sized brands are also entering the market one after another.

In the past, entering the beauty device market was difficult due to the need for substantial research and development and marketing costs; however, niche devices targeting specific skin concerns and products from domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)featuring differentiated technologies have recently been gaining attention

In this way, beauty devices are shaking up the landscape dominated by traditional K-beauty powerhousesand opening up new opportunities

📊 The Growth of Beauty Devices, as Seen Through Wadiz Funding Data

These changes in the global market are also reflected in Wadiz funding data.

  • The top five projects by funding amount on Wadiz Beauty over the past yearwere all "beauty device projects."
  • In particular, all projects that raised over 1 billion won on Beauty Funding over the past year were “beauty device projects.”
  • While beauty devices accounted for just 20% of the top 10 projects by funding amount in 2024, that figure has risen to 70% this year

The data also confirmed that beauty devices have emerged as a major trend Wadiz.

This means that now is the perfect opportunity for new makers to get on the growth curve.

💡 Ocula: Surpassing 100 Million in Funding and Gaining Global Supporters

A prime example of this success is the "Ocula Titanium Cell 4.0," which has maintained its position as the top-selling product in Wadiz Beauty category

Shortly after the funding campaign launched in late July, it quickly garnered interest from backers and surpassed 1 billion won in cumulative funding in no time.

The reason the Ocula has garnered particular attention from supporters is that it is the first in the world to feature a quad-frequency ultrasound systemthat includes 19 MHz.

Unlike existing devices, which used a single or dual frequency, the Titanium Cell 4.0 is designed to utilize four frequencies simultaneously, enabling deeper and more precise skin care.

Ocura’s “water droplet ultrasound” technology, developed over two years by a team of researchers from Seoul National University, has been clinically proven at an institution registered with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to improve skin texture and elasticity in the nasolabial folds and reduce the appearance of the four major types of pores.

Supporters are particularly drawn to the fact that they can “enjoy hospital-grade care right at home.”

What’s even more impressive is that not only domestic fans but also fans from English-speaking countries such as the United States, Australia, and New Zealand actively purchased the merchandise.

Since the cost of dermatological procedures is high overseas, leading to particularly strong demand for at-home beauty devices, Ocula’s innovative technology has also resonated strongly with global supporters.

We’ve now entered an era where global supporters can easily purchase Korean beauty devices Wadiz.

This is an example that demonstrates how Wadizserves as a bridge connecting domestic makers directly to the global market, going beyond simply “the successful funding of a single project.”

✨ Thermacera: A beauty device that has raised a cumulative total of 2.6 billion won through two funding rounds

Following Ocura, another beauty device recently launched a global crowdfunding campaign.

What if you could enjoy premium, hospital-grade treatments right at home?

Thermasera has already raised a total of 2.6 billion won through two funding rounds. This shows just how much interest and support it has received from so many people.

What’s particularly noteworthy is that this is an industry-first technology.

Whereas previously it was necessary to switch out components for each skin layer, a major advantage ofThermacera is the convenience of being able to treat various skin layers with a single tip.

Thanks to this, it’s much easier to use, and this convenience was the key to its popularity among supporters.

Thermacerra, which has garnered immense support from backers in Korea during two campaigns in November 2024 and August 2025, has now launched its Wadiz Global service. We look forward to connecting with backers around the world beyond Korea.

💡 MaxLift: Pain-Free Wrinkle Care

The last beauty device I’d like to introduce is MaxLift.

MaxLift is a next-generation beauty device that utilizes near-infrared (NIR) light wavelengths to help improve skin condition.

Utilizing near-infrared technology, which has already been proven effective in dermatology and rehabilitation therapy, clinical tests have confirmed its effectiveness in reducing wrinkles, improving skin elasticity, and brightening the complexion.

Above all, it has been chosen by many supporters because it can be used without causing pain or strong irritation, making it easy to use consistently without any discomfort

Going beyond our domestic success, we are launching a global crowdfunding campaign and getting ready to connect with supporters around the world.

🌐 Wadiz: The Easiest Way to Connect with Global Supporters

From a creator’s perspective, global crowdfunding might seem complicated, but Wadiz, the process isn’t much different from domestic crowdfunding.

  • You can set up shipping to up to 200 countries, and,
  • Project Story supports automatic multilingual translation via AI translation, and
  • We also support international credit card payments and global shipping services.

In other words, creators can focus solely on their products and stories, while Wadizhandles the global expansion.

Since launching the Wadiz web and mobile app services last May, we have gained members from 89 countries, and new payments have been processed in more than 20 countries.

By category, beauty accounted for the largest share at 25%.

The fact that Ocula has secured 1 billion won in funding and gained international supporters is just the beginning of the opportunities that lie ahead for beauty device manufacturers.

✨ Beauty Devices: Now is the perfect time to join the challenge with Wadiz

The global marketis expected to grow to 162 trillion won, and the domestic market is also continuing to see double-digit growth each year.

Ocula’s achievement of surpassing 1 billionWadizdemonstrates that this trend has already become a reality.

Now is the perfect time for beauty device manufacturers to connect directly with global fans—and not just domestic supporters—through Wadiz!

We look forward to seeing more beauty devices make their global debut Wadizand drive new growth for K-Beauty.
