As the "wellness" trend—which emphasizes health and happiness—gains momentum, demand for related content is growing.
The crowdfunding platform Wadiz(CEO Shin Hye-seong) announced on the 29th that the "Human Anatomy Atlas in Video" project surpassed 120 million won in payments within just one hour of its launch.
This crowdfunding campaign generated significant buzz even before its launch, with 14,000 people signing up for pre-release notifications, and has now (as of the 29th) reached 200 million won in funding.
Produced by "8 Archive," a team of artists and writers from Spain, Canada, and South Korea, this resource guide features videos demonstrating the movement of muscles during various activities, such as walking and running. It also provides detailed explanations of the names and structures of bones and muscles, garnering an overwhelmingly positive response from professionals—including medical practitioners seeking to enhance their skills and yoga and Pilates instructors—who rely on this information.
Supporters eager to delve deeper into hobbies such as drawing, video production, and exercise are also showing great enthusiasm for the campaign. Creators seeking to accurately depict human proportions and musculature, as well as supporters aiming to exercise effectively by learning proper form and muscle engagement, are joining the campaign in droves.
To address this, the production team added 30 new detailed cuts—including faces, necks, and hands—exclusively on Wadiz, expanding the total lineup to over 150 items.
Wadizexplained that the success of this project stems from its alignment with consumer demand for healthy growth amid the current wellness trend. In fact, payment amounts in wellness-related categories on the platform—including ∆self-improvement, ∆health/inner beauty, ∆home workouts, and ∆sports—increased by 72% compared to the same period last year (January–May).
A Wadiz representative stated, “‘The Human Body Atlas in Video Format’ has gained significant popularity as practical and unique content among both experts and general consumers seeking self-improvement,” adding, “We plan to continue identifying new and in-depth content projects across various fields for funding.”
