Food Project was once again a huge hit last year. A total of 1,228 funding campaigns were launched, attracting approximately 210,000 supporters. It truly lives up to its reputation as one of the three essentials of life. 

If you take a closer look at funding trends, you’ll see that the era of consuming food simply to survive is over. I analyzed the top 10 food funding projects by their characteristics, and the keywords that emerged were “premium,” “exclusivity,” and “health (self-care).” 

With our daily lives becoming more restricted, the range of consumer choices has narrowed. As a result, we’ve started to focus more on the basics of food, clothing, and shelter. In a crowdfunding landscape filled with novel and unique products, high-quality food items that deliver true satisfaction were a perfect fit.

 What's in store for Food in 2023? MESIC

In 2023, the food funding landscape is expected to become even more focused on premium quality, scarcity, and health (self-care). The keywords that emerge from this trend are “MESIC Food: For Me (ME), Sensational (Sensation), Memorable (Impression), and Collectible.”

Did you know that last year’s protein smoothies made with blended fruits and vegetables and protein-packed donuts were huge hits? This year, we’re bringing you more health-conscious foods Wadizthat are well worth the investment—all for our valued supporters!

Why did supporters back beauty crowdfunding projects in 2022?

In 2022, approximately 1,228 beauty projects were launched. Of these, over 30% of creators received more than 10 million won in support through a single funding campaign. “Buying cosmetics from a brand you’ve never heard of, without even testing them—and after waiting so long?” This is a remarkable development for the beauty category, which used to be met with skepticism! (Am I being a bit too sentimental?)

We analyzed 439 projects that raised over 10 million won in funding last year. Products that offered premium results in terms of efficacy and effectiveness, or those made with premium ingredients, proved particularly popular. Products featuring rare benefits or ingredients not commonly highlighted on other platforms also received a lot of love.

The beauty trends for 2022 are all about premium quality and exclusivity. But the most important thing is—the efficacy and ingredients! 😉
