Life design funding platform Wadiz(CEO Shin Hye-seong, www.wadiz.kr) announced on the 21st that it successfully hosted “Incheon Maker Day” for small business owners and startups at Incheon National University.
Wadiz Maker Day is Korea’s largest crowdfunding seminar, traveling to local makers across the country. Since March 2016, it has attracted over 100,000 participants and is widely recognized for helping lay the groundwork for successful funding campaigns. Organized to revitalize the local startup ecosystem, this event—the first of 2024 following previous stops in Busan, Daegu, Seoul, and Daejeon since the year before last—was held in Incheon for the first time.
The event was attended by individuals who currently operate brands or businesses in the Incheon area, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs looking to test their business ideas in the market. Approximately 300 aspiring makers interested in funding services attended, demonstrating the strong enthusiasm for entrepreneurship.
The session, themed “The A to Z of UsingWadiz,” covered the following topics: △Key features ofWadiz △How to prepare for a campaign Wadiz promotional strategies for a successful campaign, followed by a Q&A session. Attendees received two types of crowdfunding guidebooks, and selected participants were offered one-on-one expert consulting Wadiz.
Lee Seung-yeon, Team Leader of the Maker Growth Planning Team Wadiz, who organized the event, said, “Maker Day is an event designed to discover talented local makers.” She added, “Through Maker Day, we will identify and support promising makers in each region and introduce their innovative products and brands to Wadiz 6 million supporters via crowdfunding.”
Meanwhile, Wadizis gaining attention as a “pre-launch distribution channel” that allows local small business owners to gauge consumer response and secure an initial customer base when launching their first online business. Participation from small business owners is on the rise, as the platform hosts at least three customized promotional events each month, offering various benefits tailored to specific categories.
